How to find the V-code report with courses- updated

Course V-codes are how funding is calculated, so it's important to make sure they are correct in your student system.

We've built a report that will help you audit what's in your student system, by looking at which courses we think should have V-codes, and what the values should be. 

Here's how you reach the report:

Start by selecting the Analytics section of Eduthings. When the left menu appears select the arrow to expand the options for funding.

Once the funding menu expands there are two different ways you can check for V code validations.  In the first method you can verify that a course is coded correctly.  To do this select Contact Hours from the expanded funding menu. 

You will then see an overview screen for funding based on contact hours.  You will want to select the button that allows you to "VIEW COURSES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS REPORT"

Once this report is selected a list will open that shows all of the courses contributing the Contact Hours Report.  Look to columns on the right and here you will see the V-Code Value that is listed for a specific Course. 

This report is built by looking at all of the courses we see in student schedules that we think are CTE. If we're missing any or have more than we should, please let us know so we can investigate the source of the discrepancy together. If your student system is missing any, it may mean you need to correct it to receive the right amount of funding.

Note: For courses that have different local numbers between the 1st and 2nd parts, we use 1/2 the amount of the V-code, but in your system, you may see them combined. What's important is they add up to the correct amount.

The second method to validating V- code values is through student reports.  The verify your V-code in this manner in the expanded funding menu you will select STUDENT V-CODES

Once this report displays you will see a listing of V-codes for individuals students with CTE courses on their schedules, and the Vo code Value for those courses will be listed in the last column.
